三坊七巷

福州市的三坊七巷是全國重點文物保護單位之一，在2009年曾經以最高票獲選中國十大歷史文化名街，去年更被評為國家4A級旅遊景區。對我來說，它骨子裡其實不過是條裝修得比較古雅的步行街，裡面賣著各式各樣的閩台地道小吃。但三坊七巷不同於中國其它城市步行街的是，所有店舖在外觀裝修上都很尊重它的歷史性，沒有將完全不配襯的現代東西放上去。所以在晚上你在三坊七巷看到的，並不是霓虹燈招牌，而是高高掛著的紅燈籠。

就連Starbucks和McDonald's也得將自己標準的visual identity暫時放下，換上中文書法字！

酒吧、網吧、茶吧等我都聽過，但書吧還是第一次。以木材為主的裝修配上藤器家具，未翻開書本已經先感受到它的舒適！

飛機誤點，嘆下午茶去！

Jeopardized June

Last month of my contract. But I already know I can't finish everything before it ends. But since it is a project I have been taking care of for 20+ months from scratch to end, I will finish it at whatever the cost.

The latter half of June is jeopardized by more work:

Summer term started on Monday. Will need to pack 14 sessions in 10 weeks until mid-Aug. There were 51 students attended my first class, record-breaking! When I was explaining the weekly rundown and requirements on assignments, I told them I wanted to scare them away by magnifying the workload, but did not succeed... I told them I was not lying since some of their classmates took the course in 2010. They responded that it was their classmates telling them that this subject was so rewarding and it is a must-take! Now I know why my classroom is crowded with students. I laughed because my ego was taken to heaven for a few seconds, but it was a bitter laugh because it was such a big class that implies a lot of tutoring.

Will need to fly to Fuzhou, Fujian at late afternoon today. First time for me to go there. Will need to work there over the weekend until Monday night. I will bring with me some MBA assignments, hopefully I can read them on the plane or before going to bed, since I got no other time to read and grade them. Oh yes, won't have access to Blogger and Facebook la... but FaceTime and Skype are fine.

Next week, another 2 day trips to Shenzhen and Shunde. So not much time for me to finish my writing...
